Spot stain removal on Wool Berber carpet

First job, helping a couple in Box, Minchinhampton meet their letting agent inventory obligations with an end of tenancy carpet clean.

Second call was in Box, Minchinhampton again. This time, we were required to tackle a Redbush Tea stain on a wool Berber carpet & to remove the residue left by cat vomit. Not a very glamorous calling, but great when it all works out!

We are always happy to offer spot stain removal advice. Let us help you tackle the stains with out damaging your carpets, Berber or otherwise. There are a few simple steps you can take to prevent the spot stain becoming set in. Incorrect processes & products can cause damage to your carpet.
Different stains require different approaches on certain carpets such as Berber. But particularly aware of carpets containing viscose or hessian. These natural materials can react very differently to wool & synthetic carpets.

How fast does a carpet dry after cleaning?

When looking for a carpet cleaner, a common consideration is the length of time the carpet will take to dry after cleaning. Claims vary from, straight away to several hours.

The actual experience can be much longer. In some cases, it can take up to a week to dry completely. Apart from being inconvenient, a wet carpet can suffer complications & damage. Some of which can be corrected by a skilled carpet cleaner. When the correct method is used by a trained carpet cleaner, the carpet should be dry within 24hrs of cleaning to avoid problems. It is worth baring in mind that wool is so absorbent that it can retain 30% of its weight in water, while feeling dry to the human touch.

We don’t give precise drying times as it will vary depending on environment. Temperature, humidity, airflow & water retention of the carpet fibre will all have an influence. A carpet cleaning machine that is working correctly with powerful vacuum, used by a trained technician is also key.

Concrete floor cleaning

This concrete floor had suffered from an oil spill that was further worked into the painted surface by a forklift truck over a period of time. The warehouse is used to cut new carpet, so we had to remove all of the contaminant to insure the carpets stayed clean while they were being prepared for installation.

The owners had tried several times to remove the soiling with mops and brushes.
Fortunately we were able to lift all of the oil spill & soiling, using just enough pressure and agitation not to damage the working surface. Handing back the warehouse for use later that day.
